Mr. Morgan

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales if he will make a statement on the progress achieved in the appointment of a complaints commissioner in relation to the Cardiff Bay barrage groundwater protection provisions.

I expect to make an announcement about the appointment of the independent groundwater complaints administrator shortly.

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what instructions he has given to the chairman of the Cardiff Bay development corporation(a) concerning the implementation of the undertakings given in the House of Lords special select committee and (b) in pursuance to the undertakings given in the letter dated 8 March 1993 from David Compton, director of engineering operations for the Cardiff Bay development corporation to Norman Robson, chairman of the Cardiff flood action committee in relation to informing named individual householders in the Cardiff area by post of the date of the start of construction of the proposed Cardiff Bay barrage.

None, but my officials have discussed the issues with officials from the Cardiff Bay development corporation.
