To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what the Northern Ireland social fund discretionary budget will be for 1994–95.

Mr. Ancram

I am glad to be able to announce that the social fund discretionary budget for 1994–95 will be £29.8 million. This is an increase of £1.3 million over the amount allocated to districts for 1993–94.

Details of the allocations will be placed in the Library together with a note explaining the basis on which they have been made.
