To ask the Secretary of State for Health what has been the change in(a) life expectancy and (b) infant mortality in the last 10 years in (i) the United Kingdom and (ii) other Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development countries.

[pursuant to his reply, 17 March 1994, c. 826–27]: I regret that the table showing life expectancy and infant mortality rate for the United Kingdom, 1982–1991 in my previous reply was inconsistent with the text. A revised table based on 100,000 livebirths is as follows:
