asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they accept the scientific data contained in the paper on Fenthion edited by N. F. Izmerov, Academician, USSR Academy of Medical Sciences (Moscow 1986) in the series Scientific Reviews of Soviet Literature on Toxicity and Hazards of Chemicals which states on page 12 that "Fenthion treatment of milking animals is forbidden"; and if not, why not.

As the noble Countess is aware, my officials have been making extensive inquiries to try to obtain a full copy of this review paper, so far without success. I will write to the noble Countess with a full reply as soon as a copy of the paper has been obtained and its contents considered.
