To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs when he hopes to discuss the question of human rights with the Turkish Government.

I have no immediate plans to do so. My right hon. Friend the Foreign Secretary raised human rights with the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Turkey when he visited Ankara on 19 and 20 January. I stressed our concerns to the Turkish Minister for Human Rights in London recently.
