HC Deb 29 March 1994 vol 240 cc620-1W
Mr. Parry

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs how many people have been killed by Turkish security services during the past year; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Douglas Hogg

There are no reliable statistics. Our embassy in Ankara estimates, on the basis of press reports and other information, that some 1,370 alleged terrorists, 720 civilians, and 650 members of the security forces have been killed during the past year.
