HC Deb 28 March 1994 vol 240 cc581-2W
27. Mr. Ainger

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security what is his estimate of the number of families who are worse off as a result of claimants moving from income support to family credit in 1991–92 and 1992–93.

Mr. Hague

The information requested is not available. However, recent research by the Policy Studies Institute indicated that couples in work with family credit were on average £18 per week better off than when out of work.
