HC Deb 23 March 1994 vol 240 c247W
Mr. Cohen

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether consideration has been given to the provision of earth-scanning radar equipment similar to that in use in the Gloucester murder inquiry for use in de-mining operations supported under the United Kingdom overseas aid budget.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

Our role in humanitarian mine clearance operations continues to be one of funding organisations with suitable programmes. We have not to date received any proposals using advanced technology, but would consider funding the use of any appropriate technology which would speed up mine eradication.
