HC Deb 21 March 1994 vol 240 cc47-8W
Mr. Wallace

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what information he has regarding the amount spent by each local education authority in Scotland on books in 1993 prices in(a) 1979–80, (b) 1984–85, (c) 1989–90 and (d) 1992–93.

Mr. Lang

[holding answer 14 March 1994]: The available information on education authorities' spending on books and equipment is given in the table. The table shows combined figures for books and equipment in 1984–85 and later years because not all authorities' returns identify separately spending on books in those years.
