To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what proportion of motorways by length are in eastern England.

The Department's eastern region covers Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire. The length of motorway in these counties is 316 km over 11 per cent. of the national motorway network in England.
