HC Deb 15 March 1994 vol 239 cc612-3W
Mr. A. Cecil Walker

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what is the proportion of(a) Protestant and (b) Catholic staff, by seniority, in the district 6 office of the Northern Ireland Housing Executive.

Mr. Tim Smith

Information about the religious make-up of the Northern Ireland Housing Executive's work force as a whole is published annually in the Fair Employment Commission's report "A Profile of the Northern Ireland Workforce: Summary of the Monitoring Returns". The most recent report for 1992 is available in the Library.

I am advised by the chief executive of the Northern Ireland Housing Executive that it allocates staff resources to various parts of the organisation on the basis of its operational needs and personnel management policies. The executive does not release information about the religious composition of staff in individual offices.

Mr. A. Cecil Walker

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what is the proportion of public authority housing in terms of(a) Protestant and (b) Catholic occupancy administered by the district 6 office of the Northern Ireland Housing Executive.

Mr. Tim Smith

I am advised by the chief executive of the Northern Ireland Housing Executive that it does not hold statistical information on the religious composition of its tenants. The Housing Executive has consistently administered housing policies in a fair and open way on the basis of need, irrespective of religion.
