HC Deb 02 March 1994 vol 238 c761W
Mr. Peter Bottomley

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what advice she has received on how there could be a reduction of 200,000 NHS jobs without a reduction in services to patients.

Dr. Mawhinney

I have received no such advice. The substantial progress that is being made on the creation of a more flexible work force has, among other measures, enabled more patients to be treated within the national health service than ever before.
