§ Mr. Llew SmithTo ask the Secretary of State for Defence whether he has reviewed the future of the Defence Research Agency and the proof and experimental establishment at Dundrennan and Eskmead test ranges in regard to work conducted for his Department's testing programme on depleted uranium shells.
§ Mr. AitkenThe future of all our test and evaluation establishments was recently reviewed by the Director General of Test and Evaluation. Options arising from this are still being considered, but I hope that an announcement can be made in the not-too-distant future. This will be followed by a period of consultation with interested parties.
