To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will introduce legislation to ban the sale of slingshots and catapults; and if he will make a statement.

My right hon. Friend has no plans to introduce legislation to ban the sale of slingshots and catapults. The sale of a range of dangerous items which have no apparent legitimate use is allready banned under the Offensive Weapons Order 1988. Catapults are sold for legitimate use by anglers and farmers.
