To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what proportion of the Royal Air Force Tornado GR1 fleet is currently equipped with the NAVSTAR global positioning system.

Of the 96 established aircraft and eight in-use reserves on front-line Tornado GR1 squadrons, 43 aircraft are currently GPS-capable. For the future, we plan to integrate GPS equipment to all aircraft upgraded under the Tornado MLU programme.
