Mr. Wigley

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales how many farmers in Wales were entitled to receive sheep premium grants; how many claims, and what percentage of the total number of entitled farmers, were settled by(a) 30 April, (b) 15 May and (c) 31 May.

Some 17,410 eligible claims were received in 1993. The number and percentage of claims settled is as follows:
