§ Mr. GoodladThe United Kingdom and Indonesia enjoy excellent bilateral relations. The importance of the relationship is well illustrated by the large number of high-level visits in both directions. We contribute substantially to Indonesia's infrastructure development. British industry plays a significant role in this. British exports to Indonesia rose to their highest ever level—£331 million—in 1993. In 1992, the last year for which we have complete figures, and when British firms invested $996 million there, Britain was the largest European investor in Indonesia.
