To ask the Secretary of State for Wales for each year since 1987, what was the percentage of school pupils entitled to free school meals.

The percentage of school pupils entitled to free school meals in Wales is shown in the following table. Data are not available prior to 1988–89.

1991–92 and 1993–94. From 1994–95 onwards this additional funding is within the authorities' allocations and is not identified separately.
