To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland how many cases of food poisoning were repotted in Scotland in each year since 1979.

Information on the number of such reports of salmonella in foodstuffs is not held centrally; data are available on reported cases of salmonellosis, but these do not distinguish between cases originating from food or other sources.
