Forecasts of the costs of administering individual benefits are not available. It is estimated that the changes announced in the Social Security (Incapacity for Work) Act 1994 will add £40 million per annum to the Department's overall administrative costs in 1995–96 and 1996–97 and £10 million per annum from 1997–98.
