§ Mr. Ian BruceTo ask the President of the Board of Trade what proportion of United Kingdom oil and gas production comes from Scotland at the latest available date; and what was the proportion in 1979.
§ Mr. EggarNearly all of the United Kingdom's oil and natural gas production comes from the offshore part of the United Kingdom continental shelf. In 1993, this accounted for 97.4 per cent. of production, with the remaining 2.6 per cent. coming from onshore production in England. The corresponding proportions in 1979 were 99.9 per cent. and 0.1 per cent. respectively.
