§ Lord Lester of Herne Hillasked Her Majesty's Government:
Further to their Answer of 20 June (H.L. Deb. col. WA 8) how can Parliament obtain information about how many certificates have been issued by Ministers under Section 69(2) of the Race Relations Act 1976 blocking access to industrial tribunals for claims of unlawful racial discrimination on grounds of national security, so as to ensure that Ministers are accountable to Parliament for the manner in which they exercise these statutory powers.
Earl FerrersThis information is not held centrally. No such certificates have been issued recently by Home Office Ministers and I am not aware of any having been issued by Ministers in other departments.
