§ Mr. CohenTo ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will publish a breakdown of the average weekly spending on items in the family expenditure survey of(a) an individual of over 24 years and (b) a family of one parent and two children who are wholly dependent on income support.
§ Mr. NelsonThe figures in the table are from the 1992 family expenditure survey. The survey has a small number of households in these categories, so the figures are subject to large sampling variations. Figures are rounded to the nearest 50p. The figures refer to households whose gross income is made up of income support, child benefit and one parent benefit where appropriate and up to £2 of other income.
