To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will make a statement on the number of NHS trust hospitals in Scotland in breach of the patients charter waiting time limits.

Mr. Stewart

There were eight NHS trust hospitals which had patients on waiting lists at 30 September 1993 who had waited longer than the appropriate treatment guarantees.
