§ Mr. MacleanThe available information is for those originally sentenced to life for murder and whose sentences were subsequently reduced, or lifted on appeal whilst serving their sentences in Prison Service establishments in England and Wales. There were 127 cases between 1967 and 1992, of which 19 followed references to the Court of Appeal by the Home Secretary under section 17 of the Criminal Appeal Act 1968. Details of individual cases cannot be given.
