To ask the Secretary of State for Health what inquiry she has conducted into the placing of the control by North Hertfordshire health trust to manage the pathology services for the Lister hospital, Stevenage.

Mr. Sackville

It is for the trust to determine which source of pathology provision provides the best service for patients, and to specify and monitor the standards to be met in contracts.
