Mr. Rhodri Morgan

To ask the Secretary of State for National Heritage what was the total expenditure by his Department on administration in 1992–93; what is the estimated outturn for expenditure by his Department on administration for 1993–94 in (i) cash terms and (ii) real terms in 1992–93 prices; and what is his estimate for expenditure on administration by his Department for 1994–95 in(a) cash terms and (b) 1992–93 prices.

[holding answer 16 December 1993]: The information is as follows:

  1. (i) The final outtum for the current costs of running my Department, including the Historic Royal Palaces Agency and the Royal Parks Agency, in 1992–93 is £34.871 million.
  2. (ii) The estimated outtum for 1993–94 is £45.404 million—£43.975 million in 1992–93 prices.
  3. (iii) My Department's planned running costs expenditure figure for 1994–95 is not yet available. The figure will be published in the unified Budget supplement to the Autumn Statement and my Department's annual report due in February/March.
