§ Mr. Gwilym JonesThe development of the specialist adult cardiac unit at the University Hospital of Wales has been completed at a cost of £5 million and a new unit is planned for Morriston hospital. Pending its completion, additional funding approaching £4 million per annum has been provided to enable health authorities to secure further operations from other specialist centres.
The development of the paediatric cardiac unit at the University Hospital of Wales is nearing completion following an expansion project earlier this year.
