§ Mr. SackvilleThe information requested is shown in the tables. It is not possible to adjust for changes in input unit costs beyond 1990–91 for capital expenditure or for national health service current expenditure, or beyond 1991–92 for hospital and community health service current expenditure. The Government's spending plans for 1994–95 reflect the priority being given to health. The health service in England will receive a further £1.6 billion next year, bringing the total real terms increase since 1978–79 to 64 per cent.
