§ Mr. Michael SpicerTo ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what plans she has to compensate those sheepmeat farmers who have had to lease quotas but who at a future date receive quotas from an increased national reserve.
§ Mr. JackThe Government have already put in place special measures to help sheep farmers who have chosen to acquire quota by release. Such producers will not have quota withdrawn if they underuse their leased quota. Nor will the leased quota reduce their entitlement to quota from the national reserve. The Government have no plans to reimburse the costs involved in commercial decisions to acquire quota by lease.
