To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what statistics are available on the provision of infertility treatment in Wales; and what proposals he has to collect further data.

Information on centres and the number of events is collected centrally by the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority, which is responsible for the licensing of centres. The authority is supported in part from public funds and its information on centres and statistics are available to all. In addition, limited information on in-patient and day case episodes in NHS hospitals is available centrally from the patient episode database for Wales.
