HL Deb 22 February 1994 vol 552 c48WA
Lord Hylton

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether London Transport has plans to run limited-stop trains to and from Heathrow Airport, until such time as the Heathrow Rail Link is in service; and if not, why not.

Lord MacKay of Ardbrecknish

I understand that London Transport has no such plans. The operation of limited-stop trains on the Piccadilly Line serving Heathrow Airport would be very difficult to achieve on the current two-track system, without adversely affecting the quality of the existing service, particularly at morning and evening peak travel times.
