To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what was the(a) budgeted and (b) actual expenditure by Her Majesty's Treasury on (1) internal and (2) overseas travel by the Chief Secretary to the Treasury in 1992–93 after 11 April 1992 and in 1992–93.

There was no specific budgetary provision for travel by the Chief Secretary in 1992–93. Expenditure on foreign travel was £660, all of which was incurred after 11 April 1992 attending ministerial meetings at the request of the Chancellor. There was no expenditure on internal travel.
