To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what is the estimated net aggregate expenditure of(a) county councils and (b) district councils in the current financial year.

Mr. Baldry

County councils' and shire districts' budgeted net revenue expenditure for 1993–94 is £18,025 million and £3,202 million respectively.
