To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what is the expected cost of participation of British forces in exercise Arctic Express.

Mr. Hanley

The expected cost to the United Kingdom for exercise Arctic Express will be some £2,950,000. NATO will, however, refund part of the cost of air transport movement, reducing the final cost to a figure of some £2,600,000.
