§ Mr. Peter LloydReliable information on the total numbers of defendants remanded in the west midlands is not available centrally. Neither is any regular information collected regularly on the ethnic origin of those proceeded against in court. Some information on the ethnic origin of 451W those remanded in custody in the west midlands was given in my reply to the hon. Member for Coventry, North-East (Mr. Ainsworth) on 25 January, Official Report, column 155.
