§ Mr. Blair
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department on how many occasions in 1992 the courts used their powers under section 58 of the Criminal Justice Act 1991 to order a parent or guardian to enter into a recognisance.

§ Mr. Maclean
The power in section 58 of the Criminal Justice Act 1991 came into effect on 1 October 1992. It was used on 95 occasions during 1992.
