940WThe latest available figures are for 1 April 1993 and show that local authorities managed 980,106 properties with one bedroom, 1,204,067 with two bedrooms and 1,577,847 with three or more bedrooms.
The number of local authority owned dwellings that were available for letting immediately, or after minor repairs, on 1 April 1993 totalled 9,663 in Greater London and 5,172 in south-east England—excluding London—as reported by local authorities in their latest annual housing investment programme—HIP1—returns. Information is not centrally available on size of local authority-owned dwellings that are vacant.
