Local Authority Boundary Changes

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will publish representations received regarding local authority boundary changes for Dumbarton district.

It is not normal practice to publish correspondence received by Government Departments unless the correspondent has agreed to this. Since publication of the White Paper, "Shaping the Future—The New Councils", a number of representations have been received in relation to the Government's proposals as they effect Dumbarton district. Most of these have been in support of the proposed inclusion of Helensburgh and Cardross withn Argyll and Bute. Some letters have also requested that the Luss and Arden area be included within Argyll and Bute.
