To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will provide a figure for the number of staff in his Department covered by statutory sick pay.

[holding answer 31 January 1994]: As at 27 January 1994, 7,280 staff in the Scottish Office, excluding the Scottish Prison Service, and the associated departments were covered by statutory sick pay.
