To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what is Her Majesty's Government's policy towards the current conflicts within certain of the republics of the former Soviet Union.

Mr. Douglas Hogg

We are concerned at the growing human toll and humanitarian problems resulting from the conflicts in Georgia, Nagorno-Karabakh, and Tajikistan. We continue to work for resolutions through the international bodies involved, notably the CSCE and the UN.
