To ask the President of the Board of Trade what further representations he has received from individuals and organisations expressing concern about the postponement of electricity franchises in the 1 Mw to 100 Kw bracket since his answer of 18 February 1993,Official Report, column 318.

I received a number of representations during the coal review on this issue. In the White Paper "The Prospects for Coal", Cm 2235, published in March 1993, the Government confirmed that they did not intend to postpone the reduction of the electricity franchise to 100 Kw.
