§ Mr. Gwilym JonesBetween January and September 1994, 12 out-of-town centre retail applications came before my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State as references under the Town and Country Planning (Shopping Development) (England and Wales) (No. 2) Direction 1993, or as departures from the development plan or as a result of call-in requests. It was decided not to intervene in 10 cases; two are still under consideration. In addition nine such proposals came forward on appeal of which one has been dismissed, two were withdrawn by the appellants and six have yet to be determined.
