To ask the Secretary of State for Wales how many people have been prosecuted for non-payment of(a) poll tax and (b) council tax; what are the amounts of money uncollected; and if he will make a statement.

Information about the number of people prosecuted is not collected centrally. It is estimated that £36,700,000 community charge and £10,800,000 council tax due to 31 March 1994 in Wales was uncollected at 30 September 1994.
