It is therefore not known how many applications were actually received, but in 1992–93 and 1993–94 the number of people who received help under the scheme was 1,434,661 and 1,640,593 respectively. 1 Information is only available on a calendar year basis, i.e. for 1992 and 1993. 2 The provision of legal advice and assistance is subject to an assessment of financial means by the solicitor.
