§ Mr. BaldryWe strongly support the continued efforts by the Ghanaian President Rawlings to encourage a new agreement among the Liberian factions, but are disappointed that the latest round of talks in Accra ended on 29 November without making progress.
A high level UN mission has been visiting Liberia and is due to report to the Security Council shortly. The present mandate of the UN observer mission, UNOMIL, is due to end on 13 January.
