HL Deb 27 April 1994 vol 554 c39WA
Lord Kennet

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whom Mr. Charles Redman represents, and whether his advice formed part of the information on the basis of which the NATO military strikes in Bosnia were decided.

The Minister of State, Foreign and Commonwealth Office (Baroness Chalker of Wallasey)

Mr. Charles Redman represents the Government of the United States of America. The decision to use air power in defence of UNPROFOR troops in Gorazde was taken by UN commanders on the ground and the UN Secretary General's Special Representative in the former Yugoslavia, in co-ordination with NATO's Southern Commander.
