To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will review procedures for the reporting of deaths due to gas poisoning of United Kingdom holidaymakers abroad.

No. I am satisfied that our existing standard procedures for notifying next-of-kin of deaths of British nationals overseas are working properly.

§ Mr. Nigel Griffiths
To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make representations to his Spanish counterparts about gas safety standards enforced in holiday apartments.

No. This is a matter for the Spanish authorities.
