§ Ms Glenda JacksonTo ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what tests of chocolate manufactured in the United Kingdom for pesticide residues are(a) currently being undertaken and (b) planned by her Department.
§ Mr. SoamesThe Government's working party on pesticide residues will be carrying out a survey of samples of milk, plain and white chocolate later this year. Samples will be analysed for residues of a range of organochlorine and organophoshorus pesticides and the results are expected to be published in 1995 in the working party's annual report for 1994. Future work will depend on the results obtained from the current survey.
