To ask the Lord President of the Council if he will make a statement on his duties as Lord President of the Council.

Mr. Newton

As Lord President, I am responsible for the work of the Privy Council Office, and for overseeing the functions of the Privy Council itself. In this connection, I present the Council business to Her Majesty.

I also act for the Queen as Visitor of a number of universities and colleges.
